Surprise! I changed the name of my weekly Friday Bouquet posts to Weekend Wildflowers. I try to stick to the same days for publishing blog posts each week, but for this type of post, I really need the flexibility of publishing it any time during the weekend. I’m working toward not working on Fridays because I homeschool my girls that day, so this should help me to that end. I’m really excited to share these Weekend Wildflowers with you…they’re pretty special. Let’s dig in.
If You Only Buy One Book…
Jeff discovered this artist on Instagram and immediately ordered his book. When it arrived, the girls and I devoured the beautiful drawings and profound words in a matter of 10 minutes…cover to cover. It’s THAT good. I’m even ordering this print!
I’m completely enamored with this wall treatment Grace Mitchell used on the latest episode of One of a Kind. I’m scheming a way to use it in my own home in some unique way (maybe Noelle’s room or the dining room). I even created a Pinterest board dedicated to treillage. Have you ever seen this technique used on interiors?
Reading Nook Sconce
I found a sconce for the reading nook! Ever since we made THIS surprise DIY decision, I knew I wanted a rattan sconce for task lighting. I’ve loved this one for a long time but can’t wrap my head around the price. This one is also a favorite but it sticks out too far from the wall for this project. Enter the perfect rattan sconce for our reading nook:
I plan to change the finish of the metal from oil rubbed bronze to brass, and I’ll hardwire the fixture in the wall, but other than that, it’s exactly what I’m looking for at a price I can live with.
If I’m being honest, watching stories of designers at Market makes me miss the ideas of being an interior designer (the Las Vegas Market is the most recent one). Almost a year ago, I announced that I was hanging up my designer hat in order to pursue blogging for several reasons. I’m more confident today than ever that I made the right decision for myself, my family, and my strengths, but I still miss the fun things like Market, receiving fabric samples, and trade discounts. Ultimately though, I only miss the idea of an interior design career. I experienced the reality of it, and I do NOT miss that.
Game Changing Skincare
My friend recently introduced me to this skincare line and I’m addicted. I’ve tried several skincare regimes from Neutrogena to Arbonne and have never looked forward to taking care of my skin. I do now! This is my favorite product by far, but I’m working on acquiring the entire line (I have three products to go). My skin is improving each week, feels moisturized every day, and I actually enjoy my skincare routine. If you’re interested in trying it, drop me a line (no, I’m not a rep).
I hope you enjoyed this week’s Weekend Wildflowers. I love these posts because they allow me to connect with you on a more personal and diverse level. I hope you’re enjoying them too…and the name change! Leave me a comment below and let me know what you think.
Until next week,
